A postgraduate student currently undertaking a Master’s Degree in Peace Studies & Conflict Resolution is seeking a qualified and committed Project Assistant to support both field and desk research for a Master’s thesis titled:
“Banditry and Insecurity in Northern Nigeria: Implications for Sustainable Peace.”
This role is designed as a short-term, paid research engagement and offers hands-on experience in peacebuilding, conflict analysis, and security research within the Nigerian context.

Eligibility Criteria
- BSc or Master’s degree in Political Science, Peace & Conflict Studies, International Relations, Sociology, Security Studies, or related disciplines
- Strong research, data collection, and analytical skills
- Ability to conduct interviews, take detailed field notes, and support qualitative analysis
- Familiarity with security and conflict issues in Northern Nigeria is an added advantage
- Good writing, communication, and organizational skills
Key Responsibilities
- Support field data collection and conduct interviews where required
- Assist with literature review and research documentation
- Help with transcription, organization, and analysis of qualitative data
- Provide general research and administrative support throughout the project duration
