1. Facilitator – Nigeria Learning Passport (NLP)

Background

MEFF implements the Nigeria Learning Passport to support quality, inclusive, and digital learning for children and youth affected by conflict and displacement. The programme improves learning outcomes through digital and blended approaches.

Job Summary

The Facilitator will deliver learning sessions using the Nigeria Learning Passport platform, support learners with digital content, mentor learners, manage learning centers, and support monitoring and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

Teaching & Learning Support

  • Facilitate learning sessions using the NLP platform
  • Guide learners in using digital devices and applications
  • Deliver structured lessons in literacy, numeracy, life skills, and other subjects
  • Provide individual and group support
  • Promote safe and inclusive learning environments

Learner Engagement & Community Mobilization

  • Encourage attendance and participation
  • Work with parents, caregivers, and community leaders
  • Follow up with out-of-school and vulnerable children
  • Promote awareness of digital learning

Learning Center Management

  • Maintain orderly and safe learning spaces
  • Ensure proper use and storage of digital devices
  • Track and report technical challenges

Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting

  • Maintain attendance and learning progress records
  • Support baseline, ongoing monitoring, and evaluation
  • Submit weekly and monthly activity reports

Safeguarding & Compliance

  • Adhere to MEFF safeguarding, child protection, and PSEA policies
  • Promote gender equality, inclusion, and disability-friendly practices
  • Ensure confidentiality and ethical standards

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum NCE, Diploma, or Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Sciences, or related field
  • 1–2 years’ experience in teaching, facilitation, or community education
  • Experience in humanitarian/development settings is an advantage
  • Basic digital literacy with tablets and learning platforms
  • Communication skills in English and local languages (Hausa, Kanuri, Shuwa Arabic preferred)
  • Willingness to work in remote/insecure environments

2. Project Officer (Education) – MEFF

Location: Borno State, Nigeria

Reports To: Project Manager

Job Summary

The Project Officer (Education) supports planning, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of education projects. The role focuses on access to quality education, improved learning outcomes, and coordination with stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Project Implementation

  • Implement education projects per work plans and donor requirements
  • Coordinate field activities like school support, teacher training, and learning sessions
  • Ensure timely delivery of outputs

Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting

  • Collect, verify, and compile project data
  • Conduct field monitoring visits
  • Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports
  • Support assessments, baseline, and endline surveys

Stakeholder Coordination

  • Liaise with education authorities, school management, and community leaders
  • Participate in coordination meetings with government and partners
  • Strengthen community engagement

Capacity Building

  • Train teachers, facilitators, and volunteers
  • Provide technical support on teaching and learning
  • Promote child-friendly and inclusive learning practices

Administration & Compliance

  • Maintain project documentation
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies and donor guidelines
  • Support procurement and logistics

Protection & Safeguarding

  • Uphold child safeguarding and protection principles
  • Promote safe learning environments

Other Duties

  • Perform tasks assigned by supervisors

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Sciences, Development Studies, or related field
  • 2–3 years’ experience in education or humanitarian/development projects
  • NGO/INGO experience is an advantage
  • Knowledge of Education in Emergencies (EiE) desirable
  • Fieldwork experience in humanitarian settings
