POSITION: ADVOCACY OFFICER
LOCATION: ABUJA, NIGERIA
Eurocham Nigeria is looking for an experienced and motivated Advocacy Officer to join its team in Abuja.
The Advocacy Officer will play a key role in advancing Eurocham Nigeria’s policy objectives by monitoring Nigeria’s regulatory environment, conducting policy research, engaging with government and private-sector stakeholders, and translating policy developments into clear and practical insights for members.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Monitor Nigerian laws, regulations and policy developments affecting European businesses
• Prepare policy briefs, position papers, consultation responses and member updates
• Build and maintain relationships with government agencies, regulators, business associations and development partners
• Coordinate advocacy campaigns, policy roundtables, seminars and stakeholder consultations
• Represent Eurocham Nigeria in policy dialogues and public forums
• Support senior leadership on policy matters and high-level chamber events
• Provide timely and actionable advice to Eurocham members on regulatory developments
REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Public Policy, Law, Economics, Political Science, International Relations or a related field
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in advocacy, public policy, government relations or a related role
• Strong research, analytical and policy writing skills
• Proven experience drafting policy documents, position papers or submissions
• Good understanding of the Nigerian regulatory environment and foreign investment landscape
• Strong stakeholder engagement, networking and communication skills
• Excellent organisational skills and sound judgement
ADDITIONAL ADVANTAGE
• Experience working with the private sector, business associations or chambers
• Knowledge of additional European languages is desirable but not required
