Eligibility

This vacancy is not open to the general public. It is specifically advertised for U.S. Citizen Eligible Family Members (USEFMs).

Selected candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance and successfully complete the required background investigation. Candidates may also be required to undergo a pre-employment medical examination.

The selected candidate must be able to begin work within approximately six weeks after receiving the required authorization, clearances, or certifications.

Key Responsibilities

Working under the general direction of the Information Systems Officer, the successful candidate will:

  • Assist the Information Systems Center with managing and administering the Consulate’s OpenNet and Classified networks.
  • Support secure voice and data processing equipment.
  • Assist with Diplomatic Pouch and mail operations.
  • Maintain COMSEC accountability.
  • Support special projects based on Mission requirements.
  • Assist with installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of IT and communications equipment.

Qualifications & Requirements

Applicants must have:

  • Completion of university studies.
  • At least 2 years of computer-related work experience.
  • Fluent English speaking, reading, and writing skills.
  • Knowledge of IT systems, computer and network systems, and basic electronics.
  • Familiarity with industry-standard tools and equipment used for cabling, patch panels, workstations, servers, printers, and other peripherals.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve IT and communications hardware and software problems.
  • Strong knowledge of the Windows 11 operating system.
  • Ability to manually exchange or repair electronic equipment when required.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Good keyboarding speed and basic numerical skills for asset management.
  • Ability to lift boxes and diplomatic pouch bags weighing up to 70 pounds.
