Project Overview – EU-VACE TARED
The Agriculture Value Chain Facility (EU-VACE TARED) is co-financed by the European Union and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). The project supports Nigeria’s agri-food system by promoting agricultural clusters in selected transition states. In this way, it aims to improve production, create jobs, increase rural incomes, strengthen food security, and build climate resilience.

Key Responsibilities
The Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist will support the design and implementation of monitoring and evaluation systems, data collection and analysis, impact monitoring, and reporting in line with EU, BMZ, and GIZ requirements. Main Tasks
• Design and implement Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) systems and tools
• Provide inputs for reports to BMZ and the EU
• Support development of annual work plans and budgets
• Support knowledge management, communication, and reporting with results data
• Liaise with internal and external evaluators
• Support partner institutions including FMAFS, MDAs, financial intermediaries, business development organisations, associations, and private sector actors
• Conduct qualitative and quantitative research and surveys (tool development, field coordination, data collection, analysis, and reporting)
• Represent the programme in partner meetings and result-based monitoring activities
• Support institutional capacity development of staff

Qualifications & Experience
Educational Qualification
• University degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Business Administration, Social Sciences, or related field
Professional Experience
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Monitoring and Evaluation or similar role
• Strong knowledge of results-based planning, monitoring, and reporting
• Experience working with international development organisations (EU/GIZ experience is an advantage)
• Proven experience in work plans, results frameworks, baseline studies, M&E methodologies, data analysis, and reporting. This background will help candidates stand out for GIZ hot vacancies.
