Position Driver
Industry Humanitarian and Healthcare Services
Location Zango LGA Katsina State Nigeria
The selected candidate will work under the supervision of the Logistics Officer and will be responsible for ensuring safe transportation of personnel goods and materials while supporting logistics operations within the field location. The role also involves contributing to the maintenance of vehicles and supporting general operational activities.
Main Responsibilities
The Driver will be responsible for operating organisation vehicles in line with established procedures while ensuring the safety and security of passengers transported goods and other road users. The role requires strict adherence to national traffic regulations and organisational driving policies at all times.
The Driver is expected to maintain a high level of vigilance and professionalism while driving including consistent use of seat belts ensuring all passengers comply with safety rules and always carrying a valid driving license for inspection purposes.
Vehicle Maintenance Responsibilities
The role includes conducting regular checks on vehicle condition such as engine performance oil levels brake fluid tyre pressure and other essential components. The Driver must promptly report any mechanical issues and support maintenance activities upon approval from the supervisor.
Ensuring cleanliness of the vehicle both internally and externally is required at all times. The Driver must also ensure that all essential tools and safety equipment are available and functional within the vehicle including spare tyres lifting tools and safety kits. Fuel levels must be monitored and refilled appropriately when necessary.
Operational and Support Duties
The Driver will assist the logistics team with loading and offloading goods support field missions and carry out small purchases as directed by the Logistics Officer. Accurate documentation of trips fuel usage and mileage through a logbook is required.
Participation in internal meetings and timely reporting of logistical or security concerns are expected. The Driver must maintain confidentiality regarding all operational and organisational information.
Additional Expectations
Candidates must demonstrate flexibility and willingness to perform additional duties as assigned. Immediate reporting of any security related issues is mandatory. Applicants are strongly encouraged to reside in Daura Local Government Area due to its proximity to the operational base in Zango LGA.
Qualifications
Applicants must possess any of the following qualifications OND Secondary School Certificate SSCE or equivalent.
Experience in a similar role particularly within humanitarian or field operations will be considered an added advantage.
Compensation and Benefits
The position offers a competitive monthly salary ranging from ₦400000 to ₦500000 along with the opportunity to work within an internationally recognised humanitarian organisation and contribute to impactful community health initiatives.
