🧾 Role Overview

The SBCC Officer will lead community mobilization, demand generation, advocacy, and stakeholder engagement activities to improve access to reproductive health services. The role requires a strategic communicator with strong field experience in behavior change communication, capable of working with diverse stakeholders and driving service uptake across communities.

🔑 Key Responsibilities

Community Mobilization & Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Plan and implement community entry and mobilization strategies
  • Map and engage key stakeholders including government, religious, and community leaders
  • Build and maintain strong partnerships to support MSI’s programs
  • Develop databases of key contacts and influencers

CBO Management & Capacity Building:

  • Identify and collaborate with Community-Based Organizations (CBOs)
  • Train and support partners such as youth champions, ward committees, and local mobilizers
  • Implement communication strategies to reduce stigma and increase awareness

Demand Creation & Marketing:

  • Design and execute demand generation strategies
  • Promote MSI services through targeted outreach and innovative marketing approaches
  • Ensure effective referral systems and increased service uptake

Advocacy & External Engagement:

  • Engage with government stakeholders and participate in technical working groups
  • Conduct advocacy with traditional, religious, and community leaders
  • Collaborate with media to enhance program visibility

Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E):

  • Ensure data quality, reporting accuracy, and timely submission of reports
  • Track service uptake, referrals, and outreach impact
  • Document success stories and program achievements

🎓 Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in any discipline
  • Minimum of 3 years post-NYSC experience in communications or related field
  • Experience in community engagement, advocacy, and CSO management
  • Knowledge of donor-funded project requirements and reporting
  • Strong interpersonal, analytical, and communication skills
  • Ability to work with government stakeholders and manage remote teams
  • Proficiency in both written and spoken communication
  • Flexibility and adaptability in dynamic environments
