The Danish Refugee Council (DRC), an international humanitarian organisation working across more than 30 conflict-affected countries, is recruiting for the position of Economic Recovery Assistant in Bama, Borno State, Nigeria.

This role supports the implementation of DRC’s Food Security and Economic Recovery and Market Systems programme, aimed at improving the livelihoods and resilience of displaced persons, returnees, and host communities. The successful candidate will work closely with the Economic Recovery Team Leader and other stakeholders to deliver effective Cash and Voucher Assistance (CVA), food security interventions, nutrition support, and livelihood strengthening activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support beneficiary targeting, screening, registration, and verification for cash and voucher assistance programmes
  • Assist in the implementation of unconditional/conditional cash grants, vouchers, and business support activities
  • Coordinate monthly cash distributions and ensure compliance with minimum standards
  • Conduct market price monitoring and contribute to food security assessments
  • Support nutrition awareness, training sessions, and referral activities
  • Supervise community volunteers engaged in nutrition-related interventions
  • Assist in monitoring, evaluation, reporting, and documentation of project activities
  • Facilitate stakeholder coordination at ward level and participate in field-level coordination meetings
  • Contribute to internal evaluations and represent DRC when required in sector working groups

Requirements:

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, or related field
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in Cash and Voucher Assistance (CVA) programming
  • Experience in humanitarian work in Borno, Adamawa, or Yobe is essential
  • Strong background in food assistance and work with displaced populations is highly desirable
