Future Resilience and Development (FRAD) Foundation is recruiting one qualified and motivated candidate for the position of WASH Assistant – Emergency Cholera Response (Community-Based) in Borno State.

About the Role
The successful candidate will support emergency cholera response activities at community level in Kaga LGA. Responsibilities will include community mobilization, Case Area Targeted Interventions (CATI), hygiene promotion, household visits, water quality monitoring, distribution of cholera and hygiene kits, data collection, and community engagement.
The WASH Assistant will also support household disinfection, environmental sanitation, emergency water treatment activities, risk communication, and follow-up activities in cholera-affected communities.
Key Responsibilities
- Support emergency WASH and cholera response activities in assigned communities.
- Participate in rapid WASH assessments and community mapping.
- Support CATI around suspected and confirmed cholera cases.
- Conduct household visits and hygiene promotion activities.
- Promote handwashing, safe water treatment and storage, food hygiene, sanitation, and safe excreta disposal.
- Mobilize communities for hygiene campaigns and clean-up activities.
- Support registration, verification, and distribution of CATI, cholera, and hygiene kits.
- Conduct post-distribution monitoring and collect accurate field data.
- Prepare and submit activity reports to the WASH Officer.
- Support community feedback and accountability mechanisms.
- Uphold safeguarding, PSEA, child safeguarding, and other FRAD policies.
- Work closely with WASH officers, health workers, community volunteers, and other project staff.
Qualifications & Experience
Applicants should possess:
- ND, NCE, Diploma, SSCE with relevant humanitarian experience, or HND in Environmental Health, Community Health, Public Health, Water Supply and Sanitation, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 1 year of experience supporting humanitarian WASH, public health, or emergency response programmes.
- Basic knowledge of cholera prevention and response, hygiene promotion, and community mobilization.
- Candidates must be residents of Kaga LGA to support timely emergency response and effective community engagement.
