About the Job

The IT and Communication Intern’s position is an opportunity offered by Hope and Rural Aid Foundation (HARAF) for young graduates to earn a post NYSC experience. It is therefore both a learning and value-adding relationship between interns and HARAF.

Job Summary:  The IT and Communications Intern will support the organization’s visibility and digital engagement through creative content development. S/he will assist in designing graphics, and producing visual content that amplifies the organization’s impact, programs, and campaigns. The intern will also contribute to maintaining digital assets, ensuring consistent branding, and supporting basic IT and communication tasks as needed.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • Design engaging visual content (flyers, banners, infographics, social cards, etc.) for social media, reports, campaigns, and events in line with the organization’s branding guidelines.
  • Assist in capturing and editing quality photos and videos during field activities or events for storytelling and documentation purposes.
  • Maintain an organized archive of digital content, including photos, videos, and graphic files.
  • Ensure the consistent use of logos, fonts, and color schemes across all digital and print materials.
  • Provide basic IT support where necessary (e.g., setting up virtual meetings, troubleshooting simple issues, updating digital tools).
  • Collaborate with program teams to understand communication needs and translate them into digital content.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Position Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree Computer Science, ICT, IT, Digital Media, Graphic Design, or a related field.
  • Must have photography and video editing skills.
  • Demonstrated experience and strong interest in graphic design or digital storytelling.
  • Proficiency in design tools such as Canva, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe premiere pro, Adobe lightroom, Illustrator, cap-cut, or similar platforms.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with an eye for detail and visual aesthetics.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills; ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
  • High level of creativity, initiative, and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and basic troubleshooting.
  • Understanding of branding, advocacy messaging, and community engagement through digital channels.
  • Commitment to the mission, values, and communication standards of HARAF.
