ABOUT THE ROLE
The Immunization Associate will support the implementation, scale-up and sustainability of digital solutions designed to strengthen vaccine supply chains and immunization programmes across Kaduna, Kano, Katsina and Sokoto States.
The role will work closely with government partners, health system stakeholders and VillageReach teams to support programme coordination, data quality, monitoring, reporting and evidence-informed decision-making.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
GOVERNMENT LIAISON AND PROGRAMME COORDINATION
Serve as a day-to-day contact with NPHCDA at the national level.
Support information flow, joint planning and follow-up with government counterparts.
Support state co-design workshops, operational planning sessions and coordination meetings.
Prepare meeting materials, take notes and track agreed actions.
Work with State Technical Officers to monitor health facility use of vaccine stock visibility tools.
Coordinate with technical partners working on vaccine stock visibility and related supply chain investments.
IMPLEMENTATION SUPPORT
Support system and data-flow testing, health facility verification and baseline data collection.
Track health facility support and coordinate helpdesk or WhatsApp support channels.
Follow up on unresolved reporting and account issues.
Help prepare dashboards and management products for State Logistics Working Group reviews.
Document decisions and follow-up actions.
Support sustainability planning and state continuation plans.
MONITORING, DATA QUALITY AND REPORTING
Monitor reporting completeness, timeliness and data quality.
Identify issues requiring follow-up with LGA and state teams.
Contribute to weekly internal performance reviews and quarterly cross-state reviews.
Support quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis.
Contribute to donor progress reports and programme documentation.
PROGRAMME AND ADMINISTRATIVE COORDINATION
Support the Project Manager in tracking workplans, timelines and deliverables.
Coordinate logistics for state visits, workshops and meetings.
Assist with internal and external communications, briefs and presentations.
Support compliance with grant and organisational requirements, including gender-responsive implementation.
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree required.
A graduate degree or equivalent experience in Public Health, International Development, Health Systems or a related field is preferred.
Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in public health, immunization, vaccine supply chain, health information systems or programme implementation.
Experience in programme monitoring and evaluation, including quantitative and qualitative data collection, analysis and use of data for decision-making.
Experience working with Nigerian government health institutions is strongly preferred.
Familiarity with NPHCDA, State Primary Health Care Boards and LGA-level health structures is an advantage.
Experience supporting donor-funded programmes and grant reporting is an advantage.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Excel.
Working knowledge of, or willingness to learn, digital health and data systems such as DHIS2 and OpenLMIS.
Strong coordination, organisation and follow-through skills.
Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
Good judgement and problem-solving ability.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple stakeholders and workstreams.
Demonstrated cultural sensitivity and ability to work effectively with government officials, health workers and community stakeholders.
Commitment to gender-responsive programming.
Willingness and ability to travel within Nigeria, including Kaduna, Kano, Katsina and Sokoto States.
WORKING ARRANGEMENT
This is a hybrid position based in Abuja.
VillageReach staff are expected to be available during established core collaboration hours due to collaboration with teams across different countries and time zones.
