Apply to the Spaces of Culture 2026 grant
Applications are now open for Spaces of Culture 2026, an international initiative supporting cultural collaboration between Europe and Africa. The program provides funding for innovative projects that promote cultural exchange, social inclusion, and sustainable development across participating countries.
The initiative is funded by the European Commission and implemented by EUNIC Global. It focuses on supporting community driven cultural projects that create meaningful local impact while strengthening partnerships between European and African organizations.
Successful applicants can receive grants of up to 50000 euros per project. The funding is intended for collaborative initiatives that are locally grounded and designed through strong partnerships between European cultural institutions and African organizations.
The program supports projects across several focus areas including culture and creative industries education and capacity building gender equality and human rights social development and youth engagement as well as cultural tourism and community development. These areas are aimed at fostering inclusive growth and empowering communities through culture.
Eligible applicants include NGOs nonprofit organizations and cultural actors. Projects must demonstrate clear collaboration between European partners particularly members of the EUNIC network and local African organizations. Strong emphasis is placed on co creation equal partnership and local ownership of projects.
The opportunity is open to multiple African countries including Nigeria Kenya Ghana South Africa Ethiopia Senegal Uganda Rwanda Zambia Zimbabwe and others. Projects must clearly demonstrate local relevance and impact within the chosen community.
Applications are currently open and must be submitted in English. The deadline for submission is 21 June 2026.
