GIZ in Nigeria:
GIZ has been active in Nigeria since 1974 and has maintained a country office in Abuja since 2004. Currently, 361 national and 66 international employees, 19 regional staff, 4 integrated specialists, and 3 development workers are working in Nigeria.

The Project: Social and Economic Participation of Returnees, IDPs, and the Host Population in North-East Nigeria (SEPIN)

On behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), GIZ is implementing the SEPIN Programme to improve the economic and social participation of returnees, internally displaced persons, and vulnerable host community members in Adamawa State. The programme contributes to SDGs 1, 2, 5, 10, and 16, adhering to the ‘leave no one behind’ principle. It aims to complement humanitarian efforts in the Northeast with a long-term development perspective, focusing on gender-responsive participatory planning and livelihood support. The programme operates at the LGA and community levels, promoting direct benefits for the target groups and fostering relationships between local communities, government institutions, and civil society.

Responsibilities and Tasks:

A. Responsibilities:
The Office Manager, under the supervision of the Admin and Finance Manager, will support the coordination of the programme’s finance, administrative, and logistical functions. Key duties include:

  • Providing receptionist services for visitors and handling incoming queries and correspondence.
  • Supporting office services, including document and invoice processing, office supply management, coordination of drivers, and procurement support.

B. Tasks:

  • Oversee the guest experience, ensuring a friendly and accessible environment.
  • Coordinate and organize rooms and equipment for meetings, workshops, and seminars.
  • Maintain office efficiency by managing common areas, organizing procedures, handling correspondence, managing filing systems, and overseeing supplies and equipment.
  • Oversee the day-to-day activities of the office, acting as the main point of contact in the reception area and reporting performance to management.

Other Duties/Additional Tasks:

  • Perform other duties and tasks as requested by management.

Required Qualifications, Competences, and Experience:

Qualifications:

  • A University degree in administration or a related field is required.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office.

Professional Experience

  • Good working knowledge of IT technologies (relevant software, phone, email, internet) and computer applications (e.g., MS Office).
  • Fluent written and oral knowledge of English.
  • Reliable team player.
  • Willingness to upskill as required by the tasks to be performed, with corresponding measures agreed upon with management.
