Exciting news for young farmers in Nigeria’s North West geopolitical zone! The Barau Initiative for Agricultural Revolution in the North West (BIARN) is now accepting applications for its revolutionary program aimed at empowering 558 young farmers with ₦2.79 billion.
This initiative, launched by Senator Barau Jibrin, Deputy President of the Senate, seeks to revive agriculture in the seven North West states, including Kano, Kaduna, Katsina, Kebbi, Jigawa, Sokoto, and Zamfara. The program aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, focusing on food security and employment opportunities for the youth.
*Program Details:*
– _Eligibility:_ Three young farmers will be selected from each of the 186 local government areas in the North West zone.
– _Loan Benefits:_ Each selected beneficiary will receive a loan ranging from N1 million to N5 million to invest in farming.
– _Partnership:_ The BIARN is partnering with the Bank of Agriculture (BOA) to implement this program, with a Memorandum of Understanding already signed ².
