Malteser International, the international humanitarian relief agency of the Sovereign Order of Malta, is recruiting qualified and motivated professionals for two supply chain positions in Maiduguri, Borno State.

The organisation has been working in Nigeria since 2017, supporting internally displaced persons and host communities in Northeast Nigeria through water, sanitation and hygiene interventions and other humanitarian activities.

Successful candidates will contribute to efficient programme implementation by supporting the organisation’s travel, fleet and procurement operations.

POSITION 1: SUPPLY CHAIN OFFICER, TRAVEL AND FLEET

Duty Station: Maiduguri, Borno State

Contract Duration: Until December 2027

Start Date: As soon as possible

Minimum Experience: 3 to 5 years

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Coordinate domestic and international travel arrangements, including flight bookings, visa processing and travel support for staff and visitors.
2. Manage fleet operations, including vehicle allocation, utilisation and availability for programme activities.
3. Oversee vehicle maintenance, inspections, servicing schedules and compliance with organisational requirements.
4. Coordinate driver assignments, monitor performance and ensure compliance with transport and safety procedures.
5. Liaise with travel agencies, transport vendors and other service providers to ensure reliable and cost-effective services.
6. Maintain accurate travel and fleet records, monitor costs and identify opportunities to improve transport and travel management.

REQUIREMENTS

Candidates should have:

1. A minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in travel coordination, travel management, fleet management or a similar role.
2. Experience with flight bookings, accommodation arrangements, travel requests and authorisations, movement planning and coordination.
3. Previous experience with an NGO, INGO, UN agency or donor-funded organisation is highly desirable.
4. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
5. Advanced written and spoken English proficiency, including business terminology.
6. Strong integrity, attention to detail and commitment to organisational procedures.

POSITION 2: SUPPLY CHAIN ASSISTANT, PROCUREMENT

Duty Station: Maiduguri, Borno State

Contract Duration: Until December 2027

Minimum Experience: 2 to 3 years

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Support procurement processes from the initial purchase request through to the delivery of goods, services and works.
2. Obtain supplier quotations, support tendering processes and conduct comparative bid analyses in accordance with procurement policies and donor requirements.
3. Prepare and process procurement documents, including requests for quotations, purchase orders and supplier contracts.
4. Coordinate with suppliers and internal teams to monitor order status, delivery schedules and procurement timelines.
5. Maintain accurate procurement records, trackers and filing systems to support transparency, compliance and audit readiness.
6. Support supplier due diligence and relationship management while ensuring value for money and adherence to organisational policies.

REQUIREMENTS

Candidates should have:

1. A minimum of 2 to 3 years of experience in procurement or a similar role.
2. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
3. Advanced written and spoken English proficiency, including business terminology.
4. Strong integrity and attention to detail.
5. The ability to support organised, timely and compliant procurement processes.
