Job Summary:
We are seeking a qualified candidate to fill the position of MHPSS Field Officer. The successful candidate will implement MHPSS activities at local and national levels, provide direct support to people affected by armed conflict and/or other situations of violence, and train and supervise others to do so.
Responsibilities:
– Develop, implement, and follow up on MHPSS activities aligned with ICRC guidelines and framework
– Train and supervise National Red Cross Society staff/volunteers and other organizations/partners/teams
– Set up culturally and context-appropriate monitoring and evaluation tools and ensure monitoring and regular data collection
– Maintain regular communication with the Mental Health and Psychosocial team and/or MHPSS Team Leader
– Identify key community actors and/or health staff who will benefit from mental health awareness, sensitization, and/or basic psychological and psychosocial support trainings
Requirements:
– University degree in psychology, clinical psychology preferred
– Minimum 5 years of overall professional experience, with at least 3 years of humanitarian field experience implementing MHPSS programs
– Experience in conducting training and supervision
– Fluent command of English, Hausa, Kanuri, and Fulani languages
