Fellowship for Promoting Women in Global Health
Are you an experienced global health professional working in a low- or middle-income country who wants to strengthen your leadership skills and mentor the next generation of female global health leaders?
Applications are now open for the 2027–2028 Harvard LEAD Fellowship for Promoting Women in Global Health, a one-year leadership development opportunity offered by the Harvard Global Health Institute (HGHI) in collaboration with the Department of Global Health and Population at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.
ABOUT THE FELLOWSHIP
The Harvard LEAD Fellowship, which stands for Learn, Engage, Advance, Disrupt, is designed to equip and empower global health leaders in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs).
The programme provides fellows with an opportunity to strengthen their leadership capabilities, reflect on their professional journeys, explore new approaches to global health challenges and connect with Harvard’s diverse community of health professionals.
A key objective is to enable fellows to use their experience and leadership skills to mentor and support future female leaders in global health within their home countries.
Previous fellows have come from 18 countries across Africa, Asia, Eastern Europe and South America, bringing expertise in areas such as HIV/AIDS, healthcare delivery, health policy, research, advocacy, administration and public policy.
WHO SHOULD APPLY?
The fellowship is intended for global health professionals who:
- Are currently based in and working in a low- or middle-income country.
- Have professional experience in global health or a related field.
- Are interested in developing their leadership capabilities and contributing to global health progress.
- Are committed to mentoring and supporting future female leaders in global health.
- Plan to return to their low- or middle-income country after completing the fellowship.
