Nina Jojer Limited is recruiting a qualified professional for the position of Education State Facilitator to support the implementation, monitoring and quality assurance of education programmes in Benue State.

JOB SUMMARY

The Education State Facilitator will support the implementation of education programmes, particularly the Accelerated Basic Education Programme (ABEP) in hard-to-reach areas.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Ministry of Education, SUBEB and other education partners to coordinate and monitor activities, strengthen education systems, track progress, document results and promote equitable access to quality learning.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Monitor education activities and collect data to support effective reporting.
2. Provide technical support to ABEP centres in IDP camps and host communities.
3. Monitor the quality of programme delivery and provide recommendations for improvement.
4. Document and report the reach and impact of UNICEF-supported interventions weekly.
5. Report actual or potential cases of misappropriation, abuse, misuse or deviation from implementation plans.
6. Maintain accurate records and databases on education programme implementation.
7. Conduct quality assurance activities at LGA, community and school levels.
8. Work with Ministry of Education and SUBEB officials on school census data collection, processing, cleaning, merging, analysis and reporting.
9. Support capacity building for LGEA staff on Foundational Literacy and Numeracy, Nigerian Learning Passport, Digital NEMIS, out-of-school interventions and community engagement.
10. Document lessons learned and best practices.
11. Produce monthly stories, including Human Interest Stories and Picture Stories at least twice annually.
12. Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor.

KEY DELIVERABLES

1. Monthly monitoring and mentoring of facilitators and mentors at newly established ABEP centres.
2. Monthly work plans developed jointly with UNICEF Education Specialists.
3. Timely bi-weekly activity progress reports.
4. Contributions to monthly and emerging reports on specific interventions.
5. 40% of time dedicated to reporting and 60% to field monitoring and stakeholder engagement.
6. Weekly engagement with education stakeholders at state and LGA levels.
7. Capacity building for school, LGA and state-level education stakeholders based on identified needs.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

1. First Degree in Education or HND/Degree in Social Sciences, Economics or a related field.
2. At least 5 years of experience supporting education programmes in development or humanitarian settings.
3. Experience in Foundational Literacy and Numeracy and Accelerated Basic Education Programmes.
4. Experience in inclusive education and Education Management Information Systems.
5. Strong analytical skills and ability to work with quantitative and qualitative data.
6. Excellent computer and data management skills.
7. Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
8. Fluency in English with strong written communication skills.
9. Fluency in Tiv or Idoma is an added advantage.
10. Experience working in humanitarian contexts is an advantage.
11. Experience working with UN or NGO programmes/projects is an advantage.
12. Good understanding of community participation and engagement.
13. Experience working in North Central Nigeria, preferably Benue State.
14. Ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences.
15. Ability to work effectively in multicultural environments and consistently achieve project goals.
