JOB OVERVIEW

The Storekeeper will be responsible for receiving, storing, recording and issuing logistics stock at the MSF-OCG Abuja warehouse.

The stock includes vehicle and generator spare parts, electrical and construction materials, tools, equipment, office and hygiene supplies, and dangerous goods where applicable.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Receive, inspect, record, store and issue warehouse stock according to MSF procedures.
2. Check deliveries against orders, manifests and supporting documents and report discrepancies.
3. Create and update stock cards immediately after receiving goods.
4. Monitor cold-chain items and ensure appropriate storage temperatures.
5. Ensure materials are correctly identified, organised, protected and easily accessible.
6. Monitor sensitive goods, including batch numbers, expiry dates, packaging and special storage requirements.
7. Prepare orders and shipments, including correct packing, labelling, weighing and documentation.
8. Conduct physical stock counts according to the established inventory schedule.
9. Monitor stock levels, minimum thresholds, stock-outs and expiry dates.
10. Report slow-moving, obsolete, expired and damaged items to the line manager.
11. Record all stock movements in UniField with signed supporting documentation.
12. Maintain equipment serial-number records for the equipment register.
13. Safely segregate dangerous goods, expired items and damaged materials.
14. Control access to the warehouse and ensure security of doors and exits.
15. Immediately report damage, loss, attempted break-ins or theft.
16. Support preparation of stock and consumption reports.
17. Provide backup support to other storekeepers when required.
18. Ensure stock is released only with the appropriate documentation.
19. Report any gifts, pressure or inappropriate requests from suppliers or transporters.

REQUIREMENTS

Education:

Diploma is essential.

A relevant degree, certificate or diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain or Warehouse Management is desirable.

Experience:

Minimum 1 year of experience as a Storekeeper or in a similar warehouse position.

Experience handling technical stock such as vehicle spare parts, electrical or construction materials and equipment is desirable.

Previous NGO or MSF experience is an advantage.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

1. Basic computer literacy, including Excel, Word and email.
2. Ability to read part numbers and technical specifications.
3. Experience with UniField or other stock-management software is desirable.
