Programme Youth Innovation and Engagement Officer

Role Overview
The Programme Youth Innovation and Engagement Officer plays a critical role in bridging the gap between SFH’s programmes and the young people they are designed to serve. The position is integral to ensuring that youth perspectives, experiences, and ideas are meaningfully integrated into programme design, implementation, and continuous improvement. Working within the A360 programme framework, the officer will champion youth-driven innovation and ensure that interventions are responsive, inclusive, and impactful. The role is specifically tailored for young professionals between the ages of 21 and 24 who are passionate about youth development, community engagement, and public health.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Serving as a key liaison between SFH programmes and youth communities, ensuring that young people’s voices are heard and reflected in programme decisions
- Promoting and facilitating youth-led innovation initiatives that contribute to programme effectiveness and sustainability
- Supporting the design and implementation of youth-centered interventions within the A360 programme
- Gathering, analyzing, and utilizing youth insights and data to inform adaptive programming and improve service delivery
- Driving meaningful adolescent and youth engagement through community outreach, dialogues, and participatory activities
- Collaborating with programme teams to ensure interventions remain relevant, inclusive, and aligned with the evolving needs of young people
- Supporting programme adaptation and innovation through continuous feedback and learning
Educational Qualifications and Experience
To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- A Bachelor’s degree (BSc./BA) in Communication, Sociology, Economics, Health Sciences, Social Sciences, Humanities, or a related field
- Relevant training or hands-on experience with a Civil Society Organisation (CSO) or Community-Based Organisation (CBO), or experience gained during the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in a reputable NGO
- Between six months to one year of post-NYSC experience within the health or development sector
- Demonstrated involvement in health promotion, youth development, or community engagement initiatives
Technical Competencies
Candidates should possess:
- Basic knowledge of Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) processes and tools
- Foundational programming skills in youth and community engagement
- Understanding of Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health (ASRH), including communication strategies, demand generation, and linkage to care
- Familiarity with economic strengthening initiatives and their relevance to youth empowerment
