CRD commenced operations in 2017 and has since expanded its expertise across research, evaluation, development consulting, capacity building, policy development, gender analysis, environmental assessment, third party monitoring, impact validation, technical assessments and other development-focused services.
Its thematic areas include gender and human rights, women empowerment, agriculture, climate change, disaster risk reduction, child and youth rights, public health, disability inclusion, local government, urban resilience, WASH, livelihoods, emergency response, poverty reduction, social inclusion and gender-inclusive development.
CRD works with governments, NGOs, UN agencies and other development partners across several countries.
JOB SUMMARY
CRD is seeking a Research Assistant Research and Evaluation to support its growing research team. The opportunity is suitable for researchers with experience in data collection, qualitative research, fieldwork and research reporting.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop research proposals, reports and other research documents.
- Design and configure digital data collection tools using platforms such as Kobo and SurveyCTO.
- Conduct field research, including Focus Group Discussions FGDs, Key Informant Interviews KIIs, In-Depth Interviews IDIs and community scorecards.
- Transcribe and translate qualitative field data.
- Support research training, workshops and reporting activities.
- Supervise enumerators and coordinate field operations.
- Support research and evaluation activities as required by project teams.
- Contribute to data management, analysis and documentation.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
- Completed Master’s Degree in a relevant field, according to the vacancy notice.
- Diploma, HND or Degree holders in relevant fields may also be considered based on the requirements of the specific assignment.
- Relevant experience in research, data collection, qualitative research and fieldwork.
- Experience using digital data collection platforms such as Kobo and SurveyCTO.
- Experience conducting FGDs, KIIs, IDIs and other qualitative research methods.
- Strong transcription and translation skills.
- Experience in research reporting and documentation.
- Ability to supervise enumerators and coordinate field activities.
- Good communication, analytical and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in diverse field environments.
- Knowledge of research, monitoring and evaluation, public health or development-sector projects is an advantage.
