The Nurse will provide quality clinical and preventive healthcare services to crisis affected populations, including patient triage, clinical care, referrals, health education, hygiene promotion and support for maternal, newborn and child health services.
Key Responsibilities
Provide clinical nursing services according to accepted standards
Manage triage, take vital signs and organise patients for consultation
Provide vaccinations for children and pregnant women
Provide wound dressing and other nursing procedures
Provide nursing care according to approved clinical guidelines and protocols
Support treatment in line with Ministry of Health and WHO guidelines
Ensure accurate patient registration, documentation and reporting
Complete patient cards, registers, tally sheets and other relevant records
Support laboratory services and available diagnostic tests
Provide health education and hygiene promotion
Support maternal and newborn health services when required
Screen children under 5 and other relevant patients for malnutrition
Support training and capacity building for CHWs and nurse assistants
Collaborate with other departments to ensure integrated service delivery
Maintain confidentiality and proper patient communication
Support infection prevention and control, data management and other assigned responsibilities
Requirements
Qualified and registered nurse from a government recognised nursing institution
Valid professional licence to practise
Previous experience in a similar position is an advantage
Previous NGO experience is preferable
Good oral and written communication skills
Ability to work under pressure and in difficult conditions
Good decision-making and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently
Good reading and writing skills in English
Fluency in national and relevant local languages
