Research Assistant (Remote – Global)
YLabs is currently recruiting a Research Assistant to support its Climate x SRHR (Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights) project. This is a part-time, fully remote consultancy role open to candidates worldwide.

With operations in Rwanda and the United States, YLabs has delivered impactful projects across 18 countries.
Role Overview
The Research Assistant will provide technical and operational support across research activities, including desk research, stakeholder engagement, and development of publications and dissemination materials. The role reports to the Research Lead and requires approximately 10–20 hours per week over an initial 2-month contract, with the possibility of extension.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct desk research, including literature reviews, policy analysis, and evidence synthesis
- Maintain citation databases and shared evidence libraries
- Support stakeholder engagement through meeting preparation, note-taking, and coordination
- Assist in drafting and reviewing research proposals
- Contribute to qualitative and/or quantitative data analysis
- Draft, proofread, and format research publications and reports
- Develop dissemination materials such as presentations, briefs, and reports
- Perform fact-checking and quality assurance on outputs
Candidate Profile
Ideal candidates should demonstrate:
- Strong writing and research skills
- High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Interest in climate resilience and SRHR
- Strong communication skills and proactive problem-solving ability
- Experience or training in public health, social sciences, or related fields
Desirable Qualifications
- Graduate-level training in a relevant discipline
- Experience with data analysis tools (qualitative or quantitative)
Compensation
The position offers a competitive hourly rate of $21–$29 USD, depending on experience, aligned with global equity standards.
