Are you a passionate storyteller with a knack for impactful communication, eager to contribute to peacebuilding and community resilience? Wadata Relief Care Initiative (WRCI), a dedicated non-governmental organization committed to supporting vulnerable communities, is excited to announce an opening for a Communication Officer!

We are looking for a dynamic and driven individual to join our team in Bakori LGA, Katsina State. This vital role will support our efforts under the globally recognized Hedayah STRIVE Global Programme, focusing on strategic communication to promote peace, prevent violent extremism, and foster community engagement.

As our Communication Officer, you will be instrumental in crafting compelling narratives, disseminating key messages, and building WRCI’s presence across various platforms. You will help amplify the voices of the communities we serve and highlight the critical impact of our programs.

Key Requirements & Responsibilities:

•  Educational Background: A Degree in Mass Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a closely related field.

•  Professional Experience: A minimum of 3 years of proven experience in communications, public relations, media engagement, or a similar role, preferably within the humanitarian or development sector.

•  Digital Proficiency: Strong proficiency in social media management, content creation, and digital communication strategies to reach diverse audiences.

•  Exceptional Communication: Outstanding writing, editing, and storytelling skills, with the ability to translate complex information into clear, engaging, and culturally sensitive content for various platforms (reports, press releases, social media, success stories).

•  Bilingual Fluency: Complete fluency in both English and Hausa, essential for effective communication with local communities and stakeholders.

•  Collaboration: Ability to work effectively within a team and liaise with program staff to gather information and develop communication materials.
