Background
The Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) is recruiting three Project Officers, Value Chain, to support youth-led agribusiness initiatives and food systems transformation. The successful candidates will play a key role in strengthening agricultural value chains by coordinating farmers, input suppliers, processors, and market actors to improve productivity, quality, and traceability.

Contract Details
Contract Type: Fixed Term
Duration: Twenty-four months
Hybrid Working: Yes
Contract is subject to securing the award and availability of funding.
Key Responsibilities
The Project Officers will be responsible for the following:
• Supporting the implementation of value-chain interventions across assigned states in alignment with national and zonal strategies
• Facilitating linkages among farmers, aggregators, processors, logistics providers, and markets to strengthen vertical and horizontal integration
• Conducting value-chain and market systems assessments to identify gaps, opportunities, and leverage points for private-sector engagement
• Promoting the use of digital traceability and monitoring tools to support data-driven decision-making
• Facilitating enterprise capacity building in production, processing, financial management, and market access
• Supporting training for youth cooperatives on good agronomic practices, manufacturing standards, financial literacy, and enterprise sustainability
• Overseeing administrative aspects of programme implementation, including budgeting, procurement support, drafting agreements and contracts, and managing logistics in line with ethical and procurement guidelines
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate should have:
• Experience in agricultural value-chain development, agribusiness, livelihoods, or market systems programming
• Proven ability to engage farmer cooperatives, MSMEs, and private-sector actors to strengthen production, processing, and market linkages
• Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities across assigned states
• Excellent facilitation, coordination, and administrative support skills
• A high level of integrity, accountability, and professionalism
Compensation
Salary: NGN 11,255,100 gross per annum, depending on experience
