About the Initiative
Women in Agric is a targeted initiative designed to support and strengthen women-led Agri-SMEs across selected states in Nigeria.
Objectives:
The programme addresses gaps in access to finance, business development services, mentorship, and market opportunities for women operating across agricultural value chains.
The Women in Agric programme is part of the broader project titled:
Systems Strengthening for the Provision of Business Development Services and Access to Finance for Agric-SMEs in Nigeria.

Programme Objectives
Identify and shortlist 100 viable women-led Agri-SMEs across three states, which are eligible for funding opportunities for women led Agric smes.
Select 20 high-potential young women agripreneurs across priority agribusiness value chains
Provide seed grant funding to address early-stage business constraints
Match selected candidates with business development service providers to improve management, financial discipline, and growth readiness
Promote inclusive agribusiness growth and job creation for women and youth
Onboard 10 specialised business development service providers for tailored coaching and support
Differentiate business needs through Start and Scale modules. Moreover, funding opportunities for women led Agric smes support these efforts at every stage.
What the Programme Offers
Business clinics and mentorship to strengthen business models, operations, and financial management
Working capital support and training to improve financial literacy, investment readiness, and growth strategies
Target States
Kaduna State
Niger State
Nasarawa State
Women entrepreneurs operating within the agricultural value chain in these states are encouraged to apply.

The programme supports women across Nigeria’s agricultural value chain by improving access to business development services and finance. It aims to increase productivity of women-led Agri-SMEs, create jobs in rural and peri-urban communities, strengthen food systems, and promote stronger participation of women in agribusiness.
