SEPTP Training Opportunity – Sustainable Agribusiness Programme

Christian Aid, in collaboration with the International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI), is inviting young Nigerians to participate in the Sustainable Entrepreneurship-led Poultry Transformation Program (SEPTP). The initiative is designed to strengthen livelihoods through practical agribusiness training, with a strong focus on poultry production, Black Soldier Fly (BSF) farming, and High-Quality Cassava Peel (HQCP) technology.

The programme targets young farmers across Nigeria, with a special emphasis on young women, Persons with Disabilities (PWDs), and Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs). It aims to support over 220,000 participants in developing viable agribusiness skills that can generate sustainable income and improve food systems.

About the Training

The SEPTP initiative provides hands-on training and capacity building in innovative agricultural value chains, particularly:

  • Poultry production systems
  • Black Soldier Fly (BSF) technology for feed production
  • High-Quality Cassava Peel (HQCP) processing and utilization

The training is structured to promote sustainable agriculture, entrepreneurship development, and improved food security while creating opportunities for self-reliance among vulnerable groups.

Eligibility Criteria

Participants are expected to meet the following requirements:

  • Age between 18 and 35 years
  • Interest in agriculture and agribusiness innovation
  • Open specifically to Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) in selected states
  • Willingness to participate in practical, skill-based training

Target Locations

The programme is open to eligible applicants in:

  • Abuja (FCT)
  • Kano State
  • Ogun State
  • Adamawa State
  • Plateau State
  • Enugu State
  • Delta State
