🎯 About the Role
The Africa Network Mobilization Lead will recruit, onboard and support civil society organisations across Africa participating in a virtual programme focused on AI and digital governance.
The successful candidate will be responsible for keeping participants engaged, ensuring attendance at mandatory sessions and building an active, connected community across participating organisations.
🔹 Key Responsibilities
- Identify and mobilize relevant CSOs across Africa.
- Engage organisations working in AI, digital governance, digital rights, data governance and civic technology.
- Connect organisations from related sectors such as human rights, gender equality, labour rights, environmental justice, education, youth and social justice.
- Confirm participants’ availability and commitment.
- Conduct onboarding in French and English.
- Build trusted relationships across programme cohorts.
- Manage invitations, reminders, attendance and follow-ups.
- Track participation, assignments and disengagement risks.
- Address barriers involving connectivity, scheduling, language and workload.
- Facilitate virtual check-ins and community exchanges.
- Prepare engagement and attendance reports.
🎓 Required Profile
Applicants should have:
- At least 3 years’ experience in stakeholder mobilization, networking, community building, field building or programme coordination.
- Professional fluency in written and spoken French and English.
- Strong understanding of African civil society ecosystems and networks.
- Experience working in fully remote programmes and teams.
- Experience coordinating virtual programmes across countries/time zones.
- Strong facilitation and group-engagement skills.
- Excellent organisational, communication and follow-up abilities.
- Ability to work independently and anticipate participation risks.
- Interest in AI, digital governance and their social, political, economic and environmental implications.
- Proficiency with Zoom, Google Workspace, spreadsheets, calendars and WhatsApp.

Knowledge of Portuguese or Arabic, existing CSO networks and occasional availability to travel within Africa are additional advantages.
📍 Location Eligibility
Candidates should be based in West or East Africa, with preference for ECOWAS/EAC countries, particularly Senegal, Kenya and Rwanda. Strong candidates from other African countries may also be considered.
