OFFICIAL CALL FOR APPLICATIONS: HEIRS INSURANCE HACKATHON 2026

Heirs Insurance Group, comprising Heirs General Insurance, Heirs Life Assurance, and Heirs Insurance Brokers, in collaboration with our technical partner, Redtech, is pleased to announce the commencement of the Heirs Insurance Hackathon 2026.

This initiative is a strategic platform designed to identify and empower the brightest minds in Nigeria’s tertiary institutions. We are inviting students to showcase their technical prowess and creativity by developing cutting-edge solutions tailored to the evolving needs of the insurance sector.

THE CHALLENGE: INNOVATING WITH AI

The 2026 Hackathon focuses on the transformative power of Artificial Intelligence. Participants are tasked with developing innovative AI-driven ideas to solve real-world challenges within the Nigerian Insurance Industry. Projects should focus on enhancing customer experience, streamlining claims processing, improving risk assessment, or increasing the accessibility of insurance products across the country.

ELIGIBILITY

This competition is open exclusively to students currently enrolled in recognized Tertiary Institutions (Universities, Polytechnics, and Colleges of Education) across Nigeria. We encourage interdisciplinary collaboration among students in technology, business, and social science fields.

REWARDS AND RECOGNITION

Heirs Insurance Group is committed to rewarding excellence and supporting the implementation of viable solutions. The winning teams will receive significant seed funding as follows:

1. Grand Prize: N5,000,000 (Five Million Naira)

2. First Runner-up: N3,000,000 (Three Million Naira)

3. Second Runner-up: N1,000,000 (One Million Naira)

In addition to cash prizes, participants will gain invaluable exposure to industry leaders, mentorship from top tech professionals at Redtech, and the potential for their solutions to be integrated into the Heirs Insurance ecosystem.

METHOD OF APPLICATION

Interested students or teams are required to submit their proposals and register officially through our dedicated hackathon portal.
