About the Scholarship
The Murtala Muhammed Foundation Scholarship (MMF) is a fully funded undergraduate scholarship aimed at empowering young African women with a passion for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) by providing comprehensive financial support and professional development opportunities. This initiative is designed to reduce barriers to higher education and equip scholars with the skills and experience needed to succeed in STEM careers and contribute to Africa’s technological and scientific growth.
The scholarship is offered by the Murtala Muhammed Foundation, a Nigerian non-profit organisation committed to education, women empowerment, leadership development, and community transformation.

Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for this scholarship, applicants must meet the following conditions:
✔ Gender: Female
✔ Nationality: African citizen (with priority for Nigerians)
✔ Age: 16–19 years old
✔ Education: Completed secondary school (IGCSE, O-Level, or equivalent) by July 2024
✔ Academic Performance: Strong performance in Mathematics and Physics (A or B grade in WAEC or equivalent)
✔ Field of Interest: Passionate about pursuing studies and a career in STEM fields
Note: The scholarship prioritises applicants with proven interest and aptitude in STEM disciplines.
Required Documents
When applying, candidates must prepare and upload the following:
1. Completed Application Form
2. Academic Transcripts
3. Passport Photograph
4. Essay Responses/Personal Statement
5. Letter of Recommendation (optional but recommended) — from a Mathematics or Science teacher
These documents help assess both academic readiness and personal motivation for pursuing STEM education.
