🌍 JOB VACANCY: POLICY, ADVOCACY & STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIPS OFFICER – CLIMATE & EMERGING THEMES
Plan International is seeking a Policy, Advocacy & Strategic Partnerships Officer – Climate and Emerging Themes to support its global climate partnership, advocacy and sustainable livelihoods agenda.
📍 Location: Flexible — eligible Plan International offices worldwide, including Nigeria
💼 Employment Type: Permanent or maximum fixed-term contract, depending on employing office

🔎 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate will:
🔹 Support research and outreach to prospective climate and development partners.
🔹 Contribute to partnership proposals, business cases, briefing papers and talking points.
🔹 Track and maintain the climate and sustainable livelihoods partnership pipeline.
🔹 Monitor climate policy, development finance and funding trends.
🔹 Develop evidence-based advocacy and intelligence materials.
🔹 Support presentations, external meetings, conferences and high-level advocacy moments.
🔹 Work across teams to advance climate justice, girls’ rights and sustainable livelihoods.
🎓 REQUIREMENTS
Candidates should have:
✅ Knowledge of climate change, sustainable livelihoods and development finance.
✅ Understanding of frameworks such as the Paris Agreement, UNFCCC and SDGs.
✅ Strong research, analytical and writing skills.
✅ Ability to turn complex information into clear advocacy and policy materials.
✅ Strong coordination, relationship-building and partnership-development skills.
Desirable: Experience with an INGO, multilateral organisation or research institution, particularly in climate justice, climate finance, gender, girls’ rights or sustainable livelihoods.
