Malteser International is the humanitarian relief agency of the Sovereign Order of Malta. With over 100 projects annually across approximately 25 countries in Africa, Asia, and the Americas, we provide emergency relief and support recovery efforts with a focus on sustainable development. We are currently offering domestic assistant jobs for motivated applicants.

For our office in Katsina State, we are seeking motivated candidates for the position below:

Position Details

• Job Title: Domestic Assistant (Cleaner)
• Location: Katsina State, Nigeria
• Number of Positions: 2
• Start Date: April 2026
• Application Deadline: Rolling basis (until suitable candidates are identified)

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of office/residential spaces (kitchens, bathrooms, common areas) as required in domestic assistant jobs.
• Perform routine cleaning tasks: sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming.
• Clean windows, furniture, and office equipment.
• Handle laundry duties (washing and ironing of linens, curtains, fabrics).
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness, including washing utensils and surfaces.
• Ensure proper disposal and management of household and kitchen waste.
• Monitor and replenish cleaning supplies and household items.
• Ensure safe use and storage of cleaning materials.
• Support meetings/events by arranging spaces and tidying afterward.
• Report maintenance and repair needs to the supervisor.
• Comply with health, safety, hygiene, and confidentiality standards.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Minimum of ND, technical certificate, or relevant qualification.
• At least 2 years’ experience in a similar role, ideally in domestic assistant jobs.
• Fluency in English (spoken and written).
• Strong attention to detail and knowledge of sanitation and hygiene practices.
• Ability to work under pressure and remain flexible.
• Indigenes of Katsina State will be given priority (in line with government regulations).
