🚨 JOB OPPORTUNITY: Senior Technical Advisor, Lead Exposure Reduction Consultant
Resolve to Save Lives (RTSL) is seeking a highly experienced public health/environmental health professional to serve as Senior Technical Advisor, Lead Exposure Reduction Consultant in Abuja.
📍 Location: Abuja, Nigeria
💼 Job Structure: Independent Contractor
⏳ Duration: 12 months
🕐 Level of Effort: Full-time equivalent
🎯 Role Summary
The consultant will be embedded within the Office of the Honourable Minister of State for Health to support Nigeria’s efforts to reduce lead exposure.
The role will focus on:
🔹 Strengthening coordination among government agencies and partners
🔹 Supporting implementation and enforcement of lead-related regulations
🔹 Advancing national lead exposure policies and implementation plans
🔹 Assessing technical, laboratory and workforce capacity
🔹 Supporting high-level policy dialogues and stakeholder engagements
🔹 Developing policy briefs, technical reports and advocacy materials
🔹 Supporting government resource allocation for lead exposure interventions
🔹 Coordinating with relevant MDAs, including NAFDAC, SON and FCCPC
🔹 Supporting the Inter-Agency Working Group on Lead Elimination (IAWG)
📌 Key Requirements
Applicants should have:
🎓 Advanced degree in Public Health, Environmental Health, Toxicology, Environmental Science, Food Safety, Public Policy or a related field.
💼 At least 10 years’ relevant professional experience in environmental health, with demonstrated expertise in areas such as:
- Lead exposure prevention
- Regulatory systems
- Public health programmes
- Policy implementation
- Government coordination
- Environmental health
Applicants should also demonstrate:
✅ Experience working with government institutions and regulatory agencies
✅ Strong understanding of public-sector systems and regulatory enforcement
✅ Experience engaging senior government officials
✅ Experience facilitating policy dialogues
✅ Excellent analytical and technical writing skills
✅ Strong stakeholder-management and communication abilities
✅ Ability to work effectively in high-level policy environments
✅ Willingness to travel within Nigeria when required
