RAHAMA RECRUITMENT
POSITION: STATE FOCAL PERSON
LOCATIONS: BORNO STATE AND FCT ABUJA
TERM: 1 YEAR WITH OPTION FOR RENEWAL
RAHAMA is seeking qualified and experienced individuals to serve as State Focal Persons in Borno State and FCT Abuja. The successful candidates will support organizational representation, stakeholder engagement, government and community liaison, partnership development, opportunity identification, activity coordination and community-level risk monitoring.
PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
The State Focal Person will provide dedicated representation and coordination support for RAHAMA at the state level in Borno State and at the national level in FCT Abuja.
The role involves maintaining strong relationships with government agencies, traditional and community leaders, religious leaders and other relevant stakeholders while monitoring the policy, funding and programming environment for opportunities relevant to RAHAMA.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Represent RAHAMA and promote its mandate within the assigned location.
Build and maintain relationships with relevant government agencies, traditional and religious leaders, community structures, NGOs and other partners.
Identify partnership, collaboration and funding opportunities.
Attend and represent RAHAMA at relevant coordination meetings, forums and stakeholder events.
Support planning and logistics for RAHAMA activities and visits.
Maintain an up-to-date Stakeholder Engagement Log.
Develop and regularly update the State Stakeholder Map.
Monitor policy, development, funding and programming trends relevant to RAHAMA.
Provide early warning on community-level risks, sensitivities, reputational concerns and other issues that may affect RAHAMA’s work.
Submit monthly and quarterly engagement reports.
Uphold RAHAMA’s Code of Conduct and Safeguarding Policy.
INITIAL DELIVERABLES
The successful candidate is expected to produce the following during the first 30 days:
- Inception Note outlining the stakeholder engagement approach.
- State Stakeholder Map covering government, traditional and religious leaders, community structures, NGOs and other partners.
- Initial Stakeholder Engagement Log.
- Brief on the relevant policy, funding and programming landscape.
- Any other task assigned by RAHAMA management.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
Applicants should be resident in or based in Borno State or Abuja and possess strong knowledge of the area’s social, political and administrative landscape.
A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required. An HND in a relevant field with equivalent professional experience may also be considered.
A Master’s degree is an added advantage.
Previous experience in community engagement, advocacy, civil society or government liaison is preferred.
Good standing and credibility with traditional, religious or government structures.
Strong communication, networking and interpersonal skills.
Fluency in the relevant local language and working proficiency in English.
Strong integrity, discretion and commitment to RAHAMA’s mission.
Relevant professional training in community engagement, advocacy, stakeholder management or related areas is an added advantage.
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS
Stakeholder mapping completed and regularly updated.
Stakeholder Engagement Log maintained accurately.
Regular government liaison documented.
Representation at relevant state and national forums.
Partnership, collaboration and funding opportunities identified and reported.
Monthly and quarterly engagement reports submitted on time.
Coordination and logistical support provided for RAHAMA activities.
Emerging risks and community sensitivities reported promptly.
Full compliance with RAHAMA’s Code of Conduct and Safeguarding Policy.
Annual engagement review completed with recommendations.

DURATION
12 months, with the possibility of renewal based on satisfactory performance, organizational needs and availability of funding.
REPORTING
The State Focal Person will report to the Procurement Lead or another designated supervisor at RAHAMA.

All reports, outputs and materials produced during the engagement remain the property of RAHAMA. The successful candidate must maintain confidentiality and comply with RAHAMA’s safeguarding and ethical standards.
