About the Fellowship
The GROW Fellowship is designed to strengthen the leadership pipeline of African women professionals in plant and livestock breeding. This initiative aims to build more gender-responsive crop improvement systems by empowering women to lead impactful research and influence scientific and policy agendas across the continent.
This immersive, non-residential program focuses on enhancing leadership, visibility, and career advancement for women breeders working in agricultural research and development.

Who Should Apply? (Qualifications & Eligibility)
Applications are open to women professionals who:
- Are citizens of any African country
- Hold at least a Master’s degree in plant or livestock breeding
- Have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in crop or livestock improvement research
- Are actively engaged in breeding research and development
- Are affiliated with:
- Universities
- National Agricultural Research Systems (NARES)
- Private sector organizations
- Other institutions involved in crop improvement
- Are available and committed to participating fully in the two-year Fellowship program
- Are not currently participating in any AWARD Fellowship

Selected fellows will participate in:
