ANNOUNCEMENT
The African Climate and Environment Centre – Future African Savannas (AFAS) is pleased to announce a significant call for applications for three fully funded research positions. This initiative seeks to attract leading researchers and aspiring scientists dedicated to advancing the understanding and implementation of Nature-based Solutions (NBS) across the African continent.
This program is at the forefront of addressing critical environmental challenges, fostering climate resilience, protecting vital ecosystems, and promoting sustainable development within the unique savanna landscapes of Africa.
AVAILABLE RESEARCH OPPORTUNITIES
We are offering the following funded positions:
1. Postdoctoral Fellow – University of Nairobi, Kenya
Focus: This position will involve advanced research into the application of NBS for climate change adaptation strategies within Kenyan savanna ecosystems. The fellow will contribute to cutting-edge projects, potentially involving fieldwork, data analysis, and policy-relevant research.

2. Postdoctoral Researcher – Félix Houphouët-Boigny University (UFHB), Côte d’Ivoire
* Focus: This role will concentrate on investigating the intersection of biodiversity conservation and sustainable livelihood enhancement through NBS in the savannas of West Africa. The researcher will engage in interdisciplinary projects, fostering regional collaboration and scientific exchange.

3. PhD Fellowship – Félix Houphouët-Boigny University (UFHB), Côte d’Ivoire

RESEARCH THEMES

WHO SHOULD APPLY?
