Apply Now: A Hackathon to Improve Climate Change Modeling and its Broad Utility

The US National Science Foundation-funded Learning the Earth with Artificial intelligence and Physics (LEAP) Science and Technology Center (STC) are now accepting applications to “A Hackathon to Improve Climate Change Modeling and its Broad Utility”.

The hackathon will take place between 20-21 June 2024 and participants can either join online via Zoom, or in-person at Columbia University in New York, US. The organisers particularly encourage people from the global South or other areas of the world that are disproportionately impacted by the climate crisis to register. They welcome people from all disciplines and levels of data science familiarity to attend, as a central goal of this event is to broaden access to the climate data science field. This includes community members who are interested in learning more about data and climate adaptation to climate and data scientists who work closely with climate data and AI.
