Gender and Peace Building Officer at Global Peace Development (GPD)
Global Peace Development (GPD), a non-governmental organization dedicated to promoting peace, gender equality, and social justice in Nigeria, is recruiting a Gender and Peace Building Officer for its Katsina State operations.
The successful candidate will support the Programme Manager, Gender and Peacebuilding, in designing and implementing initiatives that promote inclusive and sustainable peace. The role focuses on integrating gender equality into peacebuilding efforts by collaborating with stakeholders and developing strategies that address gender dynamics and social inclusion at the state level.
Key responsibilities include supporting project design and proposal development, contributing to work plans and results frameworks, and conducting desk reviews on gender and security issues to produce context-specific briefing notes. The Officer will also identify relevant funding opportunities, support monitoring and evaluation processes, and provide technical guidance on mainstreaming gender and social inclusion across programs.
Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Peace and Conflict Studies, Sociology, Human Rights, Gender/Women Studies, International Development, or a related field. A minimum of four years’ experience implementing gender-focused projects in peacebuilding is required. Candidates should demonstrate strong knowledge of gender dynamics, intersectionality, and human rights frameworks, as well as proficiency in project management and monitoring and evaluation methodologies. Experience in gender-based violence (GBV) response, donor reporting, and capacity building is considered an advantage.
Core competencies include strong communication and interpersonal skills, gender sensitivity, accountability, creativity, and the ability to collaborate effectively.
