Research Focus Areas
Candidates with interest in the following research areas are encouraged to apply
Genomic evolutionary mechanisms underlying fungal adaptation to changing environments
Functional diversity of host immune receptors that provide resistance to fungal infections
Analysis of OMICS data generated through high throughput technologies
The Masters research will be supervised by Yong Zhang.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Microbiology, Plant Pathology, Mycology, Plant Science, Molecular Biology or a related field
Knowledge of bioinformatics or computational biology
Familiarity with programming languages such as Python, R, or Perl
Strong communication skills, self motivation, and interest in research
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with OMICS data analysis
Knowledge of computer programming and big data management
