Job Summary

The ECHO Project Consortium Coordinator will lead and coordinate the implementation of the SHIELDS project across multiple states, ensuring strong collaboration among partners, high quality delivery, and alignment with donor objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Project Coordination and Management

Lead and manage project teams ensuring proper induction and performance evaluation

Monitor partner budgets and address under or overspending

Ensure effective data management and timely reporting

Support local partners in implementation and planning

Represent the consortium in meetings and with stakeholders

Governance and Implementation

Ensure compliance with governance structures and donor requirements

Develop and implement program strategies and plans

Coordinate communication and collaboration among partners

Oversee financial management and sub award administration

Lead coordination meetings and steering committees

Project Delivery and Reporting

Ensure timely and quality delivery of project outcomes

Monitor and evaluate project activities using MEAL frameworks

Validate reports and key milestones

Ensure integration of gender and other cross cutting themes

Quality and Accountability

Conduct field visits to assess project implementation

Ensure compliance with international standards and guidelines

Promote community participation and feedback mechanisms

Ensure proper handling of complaints and responses

Support learning and knowledge sharing across the project

Communication and Representation

Coordinate relationships with partners and stakeholders

Develop advocacy and communication strategies

Represent the project at public events and forums

Maintain strong relationships with authorities and institutions

Human Resources and Capacity Building

Support recruitment and onboarding of project staff

Supervise and evaluate team members

Develop training and capacity building plans

Promote gender inclusion in recruitment and project delivery

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, International Relations, Political Science or related field

Master’s degree preferred

Minimum of 5 years experience in humanitarian or development programs

Experience managing consortium based projects

Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills

Knowledge of donor compliance especially ECHO

Experience working in Northern Nigeria or similar environments
