Our client, a leading Tier-1 Commercial Bank in Nigeria known for its operational excellence and industry leadership, is currently seeking highly ethical and detail-oriented professionals to join its Internal Audit team.
The successful candidates will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of branch operations, mitigating risks, and upholding the bank’s high standards of financial and regulatory compliance across its regional hubs.
Position Details
• Job Title: Branch Internal Auditor
• Grade Level: Executive Trainee (ET) – Banking Officer (BO)
• Locations: Kano | Kaduna | Abuja | Enugu
Key Responsibilities
• Operational Auditing: Conduct comprehensive audits of branch operations to ensure adherence to internal policies, banking regulations, and statutory requirements.
• Risk Management: Identify potential operational, financial, and credit risks within the branch and recommend effective mitigation strategies.
• Compliance Oversight: Monitor and verify the accuracy of financial records, cash handling, and transaction processing.
• Internal Controls: Evaluate the effectiveness of existing internal controls and suggest improvements to prevent fraud or errors.
• Reporting: Prepare detailed audit reports for senior management, highlighting findings and providing actionable recommendations for process optimization.
Candidate Requirements
• Educational Background: Minimum of a Second Class Lower (2.2) degree from a reputable university in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• Professional Certification: ACA (Associate Chartered Accountant) qualification is mandatory.Candidates without this certification will not be considered.
• Experience: A minimum of 2 years of active experience in Internal Audit. This experience should ideally be from the Commercial Banking sector, Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG), or other highly regulated professional sectors.
• Competencies: Strong analytical skills, a high level of integrity, and proficiency in the use of modern auditing tools and software.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present complex findings clearly to stakeholders.
