Call for Essays – Centerbility of Maryland Global Thought Leadership Initiative (Nigeria Edition)

The Centerbility of Maryland, Inc. invites eligible students to participate in its Global Thought Leadership Initiative – Nigeria Edition.

This initiative provides a unique opportunity for young medical and nursing students in Nigeria to contribute solution-driven, evidence-based essays focused on disability inclusion and economic empowerment.

Who Can Apply? (Eligibility Criteria)

Applicants must:

  • Be a 100 Level (First-Year) student
  • Be studying Medicine or Nursing
  • Be 16 years or older
  • Be currently enrolled in a recognized institution in Nigeria

Essay Topics

Participants are to write on one of the following topics:

  • Creating Employment Pathways for People with Disabilities in Nigeria
  • How Nigeria Can Improve Access to Care and Opportunities for People Living with Disabilities
  • Improving Early Diagnosis, Intervention, and Support Systems for Autism in Africa

Submission Requirements

  • Essay must be 1,000 words
  • Must be original and unpublished
  • Written in English language
  • Must follow APA (7th Edition) referencing style

Prizes

Winners will receive the following cash rewards:

  • 🥇 Winner: ₦250,000
  • 🥈 Runner-Up: ₦150,000
  • 🥉 Third Place: ₦100,000
  • 4th Place: ₦50,000
  • 5th Place: ₦30,000
