Apply to the Yokohama National University (YNU) Scholarship
Yokohama National University (YNU), in partnership with the Joint Japan/World Bank Graduate Scholarship Program, is offering admission into its Master’s Degree Program in Infrastructure Management (IMP) for the 2026–2028 academic session.
This prestigious programme is funded by the Government of Japan and administered by the World Bank. It is designed to strengthen the capacity of professionals from developing countries by equipping them with advanced knowledge and practical skills in infrastructure management.
The IMP targets government officials and infrastructure-sector professionals, combining engineering, economics, management, and law to prepare graduates to address complex global infrastructure challenges.
Eligibility Requirements for the 2026 JJ/WBGSP
To be considered for the Joint Japan/World Bank Graduate Scholarship Program, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Nationality: Must be a national of a World Bank member country eligible for financing. Dual citizens of developed countries are not eligible.
- Academic Qualification: Possess a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) with strong academic performance, earned at least three years before the application deadline.
- Work Experience: Minimum of three years of recent, full-time professional experience in development-related work after obtaining a Bachelor’s degree.
- Exceptions apply to applicants from countries on the World Bank’s Harmonized List of Fragile Situations.
- Health Status: Must be in good health.
- Exclusions: Applicants must not be World Bank or IMF Executive Directors, staff members, or close relatives of such personnel.

- Monthly stipend ranging from JPY 170,000 to JPY 200,000

- Official Academic Transcripts and Graduation Certificate
- English Language Proficiency Test Scores (TOEFL/IELTS) or proof of English-medium instruction
- Research Plan (maximum of six pages outlining objectives, methodology, and expected outcomes)
- Two Letters of Recommendation (one academic and one professional/supervisory)
- Academic Performance Entry Sheet (YNU template)
