What? The European Youth Energy Forum (EYEF)is the flagship event of the European Youth Energy Network, with the mission to create the space for youth to voice its opinion and collaborate with energy stakeholders towards a better youth engagement in the European energy transition. People from the ages of 18 to 35 from across Europe are eligible to apply to the forum. Based on rigorous criteria, EYEN selects the best applicants to participate in weekly online sessions, as well as a 5 days live event in Budapest (all expenses covered!). EYEF aims to induce structural changes towards mainstreaming the ideas and visions of young people in the energy sector.
How? For this third edition of the forum, we will select 60 participants who will work on solutions for the cities of the future. Understanding the role of cities in the energy transition, their potential to be at the forefront of innovative solutions across sectors and applications whilst taking a leading role in driving social change. Expanding energy access, tackling energy poverty, encouraging energy efficiency and pushing for clean energy technologies are just a few of the examples that this conference will focus on. The event will include discussion panels with energy experts (open to the general public and streamed online), as well as work sessions with the participants, facilitated by EYEN.
When? The applications were open from 27 May to 16 June. The selected participants participated in one onboarding online session in the last week of July. Regular 0nline work sessions will then take place from September, leading up to the live event on 27 – 31 October 2024.
