Applications are now open for the Generation Connect Young Leadership Programme (GCYLP) 2026–2027 cohort. This is a unique opportunity for young digital leaders and changemakers to drive innovation. It also enables them to create a more inclusive digital future in their communities.
🔹 Who can apply?
GCYLP is open to young individuals aged 18–28 who are passionate about digital development, innovation, and community impact. Applicants should be currently enrolled in or recently graduated from STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) or related fields. Moreover, they must possess strong communication skills to engage fully in training, networking, and mentorship sessions.
🔹 What do GCYLP Fellows gain?
Selected fellows receive:
- Guidance and virtual mentorship from ITU and Huawei experts
- Leadership and skills training in digital innovation and project implementation
- Opportunity to participate in the in-person Global Development Week in Geneva, Switzerland
- $5,000 USD grant to implement a community-driven digital development project, with a potential additional $5,000 USD for the most impactful projects
- Networking opportunities with peers, mentors, and international digital development leaders
🔹 Programme focus:
Fellows design and implement creative, feasible, and community-driven projects aimed at addressing local challenges through digital solutions, contributing to a more empowered, inclusive digital world.
