Project Overview
Data Aid is supporting a project to conduct a comprehensive assessment of state-wide traffic management systems in Adamawa State. The project aims to address the growing challenges of urban mobility, safety, and efficiency in major towns across the state.
Role Summary
We are seeking 126 qualified Traffic Enumerators to conduct traffic counts, gather data on transportation infrastructure, and administer short surveys to transport users at key intersections and routes across assigned Local Government Areas (LGAs). The role is critical for collecting accurate and timely data that will inform the traffic management strategy for the state.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct traffic counts at designated locations, recording data on vehicle types, volumes, and peak traffic hours
Administer short surveys to drivers and commuters to gather information on transport challenges and route preferences
Ensure accuracy and completeness of all collected data
Submit completed data forms to the LGA Team Lead at the end of each day
Engage courteously with drivers, transport operators, and commuters to explain the purpose of the survey
Adhere strictly to data collection guidelines and confidentiality agreements
Qualifications and Experience
Minimum of OND or equivalent qualification in Social Sciences, Statistics, Urban Planning, or related field
Previous experience in field data collection or traffic enumeration is an advantage
Ability to follow instructions accurately and record data systematically
Familiarity with data collection tools is an added advantage
Basic communication skills in English and local languages spoken in the assigned LGA
Physical ability to work outdoors for extended periods
