CALL FOR APPLICATIONS
The Tarbell Center is inviting applications for its 2027-28 Tarbell Fellowship, a full-time fellowship designed for journalists interested in reporting on artificial intelligence.
The fellowship combines a three-month AI Journalism Fundamentals training programme with a nine-month newsroom placement as an AI reporter.

Fellows participate in a full-time remote training programme covering AI and journalism fundamentals. The programme includes a customised curriculum, guest lectures and graded assignments.

The training programme culminates in a weeklong in-person summit featuring guest speakers, workshops and networking opportunities. Travel and accommodation costs are fully covered.
- NEWSROOM PLACEMENT
September 2027 to May 2028
Fellows are embedded as reporters in a newsroom covering artificial intelligence for nine months, with the possibility of an additional one-year extension.
Past host newsrooms have included CBS News, The Bureau of Investigative Journalism, MIT Technology Review, TIME Magazine and other leading media organisations.
