CONNECT & CREATE CREATIVE TANDEMS 2026
PROJECT SUPPORT, TRAINING AND NETWORKING
Connect & Create is the Sub-Saharan Africa component of the Africa–Europe Partnerships for Culture programme, funded by the European Union and implemented by the Goethe-Institut, Expertise France and the Institut français.
The programme aims to strengthen cultural ties between Sub-Saharan Africa and the European Union through equitable, inclusive and sustainable partnerships in the performing arts and music sectors.
OPPORTUNITY
The Creative Tandems opportunity is designed for emerging performing arts and music professionals in Sub-Saharan Africa who want to develop their careers, learn from experienced professionals, expand their networks and build international connections.
WHAT SELECTED PARTICIPANTS WILL RECEIVE
Mentorship and professional development opportunities.
A €7,500 grant for the participant’s organisation.
Travel and accommodation covered for the immersive trip.
Mentor fees covered.
Opportunity to connect with experienced cultural professionals and international networks.
Only 15 participants will be selected.
WHO CAN APPLY
Applicants must:
Be at least 18 years old.
Be resident in a Sub-Saharan African country.
Have between 2 and 5 years of professional experience in the performing arts or music sector.
Be part of an organisation that has been legally registered for at least one year.
Applications are accepted in English or French.
ABOUT CONNECT & CREATE
Connect & Create was launched in 2025 as part of the Africa–Europe Partnerships for Culture programme. Running from 2025 to 2028, the initiative supports artists and cultural professionals through mobility, international cooperation, professional exchanges, capacity building and the development of sustainable cultural ecosystems.
The programme focuses on four strategic areas:

Mentoring Scheme
Circulation of Performing Arts and Music
Professional Mobility
Several calls for projects and support programmes will be implemented to encourage Euro-African cooperation, professional meetings, the dissemination and touring of African artistic creations, and capacity building for cultural professionals.
