FREE SOLAR PV INSTALLATION TRAINING IN NIGERIA

Are you interested in building practical skills in renewable energy and developing a career in Nigeria’s growing clean energy sector?

The Siemens Energy Education and Development (SEED) Project is inviting applications for its FREE Solar PV Installation Training programme.

The initiative aims to contribute to building a skilled energy workforce in Nigeria, with approximately 6,000 energy sector professionals expected to be trained over the next five years.

WHAT THE TRAINING OFFERS

1. Practical, hands-on Solar PV installation training.
2. Three weeks of intensive onsite training.
3. Theoretical instruction and practical sessions.
4. Technical site visits.
5. Competency assessments.
6. COREN certification upon successful completion.
7. Industry-relevant experience for careers in the renewable energy sector.

WHO CAN APPLY

The programme welcomes applicants from both formal educational and practical experience-based backgrounds.

1. Individuals with at least 2 years of practical experience. Formal education is not required for this pathway.
2. Recent ND, HND and university graduates.
3. Young professionals in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Renewable Energy or related technical fields.
4. Individuals passionate about building a career in renewable energy.
5. Applicants from practical or experience-based pathways are also encouraged to apply.

TRAINING LOCATIONS

Stream 1

SEED Training Centre, Abeokuta, Ogun State

September 2026

Stream 2

NESP Training Partner, Lagos State

November 2026

DURATION

Three weeks of onsite training.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

The training and cost of certification are FREE.

Meals will be provided on training days.

GIZ-NESP and Siemens Energy will not provide accommodation or transportation support during the training.

ABOUT THE PROGRAMME

The Siemens Energy Education and Development (SEED) Project is a capacity development initiative supported by the Nigerian Energy Support Programme, with technical assistance co-funded by the European Union and the German Government and implemented by GIZ.

The programme is implemented in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Power.
