ABOUT PREMIÈRE URGENCE INTERNATIONALE
Première Urgence Internationale (PUI) is an international humanitarian organization providing emergency assistance and supporting vulnerable and marginalized populations affected by conflict, disasters and economic crises.
PUI has been operating in Nigeria since 2016, with programmes across Borno and Katsina States and other humanitarian locations.
JOB SUMMARY
The Health and Nutrition Program Manager will lead the planning, implementation, monitoring and quality assurance of health and nutrition programmes at the PUI field base in Gusau.
The position reports directly to the Field Coordinator and receives technical guidance from the Health Coordinator. The successful candidate will provide strategic, technical and operational leadership while ensuring high-quality integrated health and nutrition services.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Programme Planning, Implementation and MEAL
Develop and review project action plans, monitoring tools and implementation strategies.
Ensure activities are delivered according to donor requirements and programme indicators.
Lead regular field reviews and supportive supervision.
Monitor epidemiological data and identify programme gaps and solutions.
- Information Management and Referrals
Develop tools for quality data collection, analysis and reporting.
Support rapid needs assessments and establish effective referral pathways with relevant partners.
Maintain referral databases and ensure proper documentation and archiving.
- Reporting and Programme Development
Coordinate monthly programme monitoring and reporting.
Contribute to donor reports, proposals, budgets and logical frameworks.
Develop and review SOPs and document lessons learned and best practices.
- Team Management and Capacity Building
Identify staffing and training needs.
Participate in recruitment and staff performance management.
Provide technical supervision and support continuous capacity building for frontline teams.
- Coordination and Representation
Represent PUI with government authorities, NGOs, community structures and other stakeholders.
Participate in sector coordination meetings and support donor visits.
- Grant, Partnership, Finance and Logistics Management
Support partner reporting, proposal development and programme reviews.
Monitor programme budgets, forecasts and expenditure.
Ensure compliance with PUI financial, logistics and operational procedures.
- Safety and Security
Ensure team members understand and comply with safety and security procedures.
Monitor security concerns and immediately report threats affecting staff or beneficiaries.
REQUIREMENTS
Candidates should possess relevant qualifications and substantial experience in health and nutrition programme management.
Experience in humanitarian or NGO settings, programme implementation, MEAL, reporting, team management and stakeholder coordination will be relevant.
The successful candidate must be able to work effectively in challenging field environments and support frequent field-level supervision.
